Inter-agency Meetings

Joint BEST / BSIERP Meeting (September 6 & 13, Seattle)

This meeting brought together the investigators funded under the first and second rounds of BEST funding with the investigators funded by the North Pacific Research Board's (NPRB) Bering Sea Integrated Ecosystem Research Program (BSIERP) to discuss the research findings to date and to plan future research activities in 2008-2010.

Ecosystem Studies of Sub-arctic Seas (ESSAS) Workshop

The planning process for the Bering Ecosystem Study (BEST) began with the Ecosystem Studies of the Sub-arctic Seas workshop held in Laguna Beach, California, 4-6 September 2002. This workshop was convened by Dr. George Hunt, and sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

An Open Implementation Workshop for BEST was held 16 May 2005, on the first day of the GLOBEC Symposium on Climate Variability and Sub-arctic Marine Ecosystems held in Victoria, B.C., Canada, 16-20 May 2005.
