Serious stuff
I am now in Seattle!. I am at the University of Washington , School of Fisheries as a grad student and it's more fun than earning a living (so far).....
My area of work is in the use of gear restrictions in management of fisheries. I have been looking at application of fish excluders in spot prawn fisheries off the west coast of the USA. Sadly, this has not been altogether successful so far. I am also doing research on bycatch and management of offshore prawn fisheries. Some preliminary reports are available here. Spot prawn index. I am also doing some work on identification of stock structure. For this I am cloning microsatellites for spot prawns.
