Established in memory of DeWitt Gilbert by his wife, Olive, and sons, William and John. Dewitt Gilbert spent over four decades as editor for Pacific Fisherman and National Fisherman. Scholarships are awarded to students in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences with an interest in fisheries journalism.
