Student responsibility and grading
The UW guideline is that you should expect to spend 12 hours per week on a 4 credit course.
Below are the expectations with respect to your time commitment.
Attendance in Lectures and Labs (5 hours per week)
You will be expected to attend the three lectures and 1 2-hour lab session each week.
Mid term examinations (5 hours preparation for each exam - 1 hour per week average)
There will be two mid-term exams, one in week 4 and one in week 10. The mid term exams will cover material from lectures, readings and laboratories.
Readings (1 hours per week)
On average one paper or book chapter will be assigned for reading each week.
Homework (4 hours per week)
There will be a weekly homework problem assigned.
Weekly Quiz (1 hour per week)
There will be a weekly 5 minute quiz on Fridays covering lecture material from the previous weeks.

Grading
Grades in the course will be assigned as follows.
